Scott Bartel, Manager

E-RYT 200

Positive vibes and joyful connection are at the core of every class Scott teaches, as he encourages students to breathe, move with power and set intentions that affect positive growth on and off the mat. Come to class prepared to smile and sweat.

Scott started practicing yoga in early 2016 as an extension of his regular workout routine and quickly knew it would become a life-long journey. It wasn’t long after that he completed his 200hr training and began teaching throughout the OKC area. With well over 1000 hours of teaching experience, Scott has become known for his strong, yet light-hearted style of teaching.

As the studio manager of This Land Yoga it is Scott’s goal to make sure every person that comes through the door feels welcome, safe, and taken care of in a way that allows them to fully relax into the moment and enjoy their time at TLY.

Besides yoga, Scott has an unabashed love for all things musical theatre and you’ll often catch him singing a showtune.

Kathryn Zimmerhanzel, RYT 500

Kathryn was introduced to yoga by a modern dance professor in college. Though modern dance didn’t stick, her yoga practice was something she returned to, realizing it was the most effective tool to make her to feel at home in her body and mind. She developed a personal practice while living in Berlin, Germany. And when she returned to the U.S., she continued to seek it out in various forms and styles--from Anusara and Vinyasa in Los Angeles to Ashtanga in Austin and Detroit. In 2015, she received her RYT-200 in Hatha Yoga from YogaYoga in Austin, Texas. In 2016, she began teaching in Oklahoma City, where she further expanded her practice into meditation, becoming a board member and teacher with Awake OKC.

Her classes integrate dynamic movement with more statically held postures to build strength, encourage a felt sense of alignment, and cultivate a more holistic awareness of mind-body integration. You can always expect a thoughtful and creative sequence and an openness to answer questions and offer modifications.

Holly Bray, RYT 500

Holly is a seasoned expert in her field, blending her unique background as an Integrated Positional Therapist with a creative, educational, and intuitive style of teaching. Her classes are known for their therapeutic nature, blending myofascial release, deep core activation, conscious breath awareness and somatic movement practices into yoga flows that guide students into a deeply relaxed and connected state.

Holly's expertise is highlighted by her extensive training, which includes Advanced Anatomy, Myofascial Meridian Theory, Breath Dynamics, Ayurveda, Nervous System Regulation, Somatic Movement, Soft Stretch Release Technique, and Prenatal Yoga. She is a 500-hour level Shambhavananda teacher and continuing education provider through the Yoga alliance.

Eric Casper, RYT 200

Eric began practicing yoga in 2012, after being persuaded by fellow travelers to give it a try, while on vacation in Nicaragua. He was instantly hooked because of the challenge of strength and flexibility. He has remained an avid student since and an active part of This Land Yoga community. Eric’s classes offer a strong and gentle flow focused on alignment and engagement with room for play.

Deanna Reed, RYT 200

Seven years ago my journey with yoga began at a time when I really needed it the most. Instead of taking the traditional route, I gave yoga a chance after hearing positive praises from friends and family. My life was changed by a gifted instructor who helped me love the journey of healing. Now, I find purpose in guiding students through their own practice.

Teaching and seeing them unlock new and beautiful discoveries about themselves every day. That's beautiful and I am honored to be able to hold space and create space for that magic to happen. It was uncomfortable, challenging, and one of the best decisions I could have ever done for myself.

I earned my 200-hour teacher training in 2019 while living in Los Angeles. In spring 2021,I earned my 500 hour training, and I will continue to pursue more education.

I enjoy teaching vinyasa, yin, meditation and sound baths classes. I put emphasis on breathing as it is the best tool for mind/body awareness and connection. The flows are simple, yet aligned and powerful. Breath is a beautiful and fluid action to focus and hone in on so I value and instill in all the classes I partake in. I also put a lot of emphasis and spend time in each of the classes I guide focusing on the mind. We will learn different meditation practices in every class and I will close each practice with a sound healing experience. You will leave each class feeling grounded, strong, peaceful, and empowered.

I look forward to flowing and connecting with you soon!

Karli Altenbern, E-RYT 200

Karli’s relationship with yoga has been one of radical healing on a mental and physical level. Since receiving her 200 Hour Teacher Training from Molly Warner at Soul Ascension School of Yoga in January 2018, it has been her mission to share the awesome healing powers of yoga, mindfulness and meditation. Karli holds secure and inviting space for individuals at every junction along their journey. With training in Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Kundalini, Karli offers a methodical, balanced, and intentional experience which students can integrate on and off the mat.  In class, you can expect fun vinyasa flows, yin elements, and an emphasis on meditation and pranayama. Karli aims to build sequences accessible to all practitioners, focusing on awareness of sensations in the body. We need more love in this world, and cultivating that begins with a healthy relationship to our own mind, body, and soul.

Karli is currently pursuing a Master's in Counseling from Northwestern University. When not on the yoga mat, she enjoys cooking, reading, and exploring the great outdoors with her husband Ford and their dog Winston.

Amanda Wood, RYT 500

I have always been a helper. It started with helping my Dad on our family dairy farm; there I learned the value of hard work and the importance of passion for your trade. I went on to receive a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, using my helping skills as a counselor. I came to yoga to supplement my active lifestyle, having no idea how this would shift my life’s path. As my body became more flexible, I noticed feeling less anxious and more able to disconnect from the chatter in my busy mind. Yoga was, and continues to be, what grounds me.

I was honored to complete my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra Teacher Training at Soul Tree Yoga in Lafayette, CO. In February 2022, I completed my advanced teacher training with an emphasis in yoga therapy at The Soul of Yoga in Encinitas, CA. I have also completed more than 100 hours of training related to yoga for mental health & mood management, as well as the effect of yoga on the nervous system and the brain.

Teaching and sharing yoga has been one of the biggest gifts of my life. Each time I step into the role of the teacher, I do so with a full and grateful heart. I love being a part of people’s transformation, watching them move with more freedom, less stress, and an overall deeper connection to and appreciation for themselves.  You can learn more and connect with me through my website www.redbudyogaokc.com
